The official World of Warcraft magazine from Future publishing is no longer in publication, but current subscribers can choose from several different compensation options.
The Official World of Warcraft magazine may not have been around long, but Future is already closing up shop on the publication. In what was an interesting experiment to produce a subscriber-only quarterly magazine with absolutely no ads, only five issues were ever printed.
While there were certainly many factors that led to the publication's closing, Min Online points out that "there was tension between Blizzard and the editors over editorial independence, including Blizzard approval over which authors could appear in the masthead and write for the magazine."
According to the magazine's official website, current subscribers can elect to receive a refund, or a special offer based on how many issues they have remaining (including Warcraft plushies, in-game pets, or subscriptions to PC Gamer magazine).
