KidsCan! - DukeHealth.org

KidsCan! is a program designed to support children ages six to 18 who have a parent or significant caregiver with the diagnosis of cancer. Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month. We meet the first Monday in June, and don't meet in July or August.

At each monthly meeting, dinner is provided for parents and children before they break up into smaller groups.

Each month, the groups focus on a different theme, such as understanding cancer, changes in the family, feelings, self-care, memories, cooperation, love, and family.

The children work on an activity related to the theme, and talk with the facilitator and each other. The parents discuss the theme and how it relates to their family.

Parking vouchers are provided.

KidsCan! is supported in part by the Holt Foundation.
