If caught early enough usually it can be cured through surgery and maybe chemo..

all cancer is serious, but it depends on what stage she is (how wide spread it is) if caught early enough there is a good chance with chemo but like i said it really depends on the case

Intestine cancer is as serious as lung cancer, it?s spread / grow fast because a lot of blood vessels.
Cancers of the large intestine include colon and rectal cancer. Colon cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the colon, the longest part of the large intestine. Rectal cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the rectum, the last several inches of the large intestine before the anus.

Potential intestinal cancer symptoms include:

Abdominal pain, cramps (i.e., after eating)
Unexplained weight loss
Weak or tired feeling
Nausea or vomiting
Bloody stool (may be bright red or black in color)
A lump in the abdomen
Jaundice
Loss of appetite

Imaging tests to diagnose colorectal cancer include:
Colonoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy

If your doctor learns that you do have colorectal cancer, additional tests will be done to see if the cancer has spread. This is called staging.

Stage 0: Very early cancer on the innermost layer of the intestine
Stage I: Cancer is in the inner layers of the colon
Stage II: Cancer has spread through the muscle wall of the colon
Stage III: Cancer has spread to the lymph nodes
Stage IV: Cancer that has spread to other organs

Treatment depends partly on the stage of the cancer. In general, treatments may include:
Chemotherapy medicines to kill cancer cells
Surgery to remove cancer cells
Radiation therapy to destroy cancerous tissue
